UPSC Geo-Scientist Exam Cut-Off
Following the UPSC Geologist and Geoscientist examinations, in
particular, the Union Public Service Commission distributes the cut-off scores.
The cut-off is essentially the minimal score needed to pass the exam and
advance to the next stage. These are also based on distinct categories, much
like any other competitive test, by the Government of India’s reservation
policy.
The cut-offs for the initial written tests are made available
separately. Additionally, the cutoff scores for the personal interview rounds
are announced following the second round and serve as the ultimate criterion
for choosing the candidates. Here are the qualifying scores from the most
recent UPSC Combined Geologist and Geoscientist Examination.
Factors that Have an Impact on the Cut-Off
Marks
The UPSC combined geologist and geoscientist examination cut-offs change
periodically. The following are the main causes of these variations:
- Number
of Appeared Candidates:
The degree of competition will rise as more people apply for the same
position. The cut-off markings will gradually rise because of this.
- Cut-offs
from the previous year:
Because the Commission consults it before deciding on a reasonable
cut-off for the current year, there is some dependence on the cut-off scores
from the previous year.
- Vacancy
Availability:
More vacancies lead to a lower competitive cut-off. The cut-off,
however, rises once further if the number of seats available is relatively
small in comparison to the number of individuals that apply.
- Exam
Paper Difficulty:
The complexity of the question plays a significant role in determining
the cut-off. The cut-off points will significantly decline if the majority of
the questions are thought to be challenging.
